The Inaugural Civil War of 2016 Competition – Saturday, June 18th!
Who is ready for the Civil War? This is our first annual inter gym competition where we will battle to see who is the top team! The battle will begin Saturday, June 18th at 8 AM (Check-in at 7:30 AM), going until about 5 PM! The cost is $50 to participate which includes your lunch and a t-shirt. There is a sign up sheet at the gym next to the front door when you walk in where you can register for the competition and provide us with your shirt size.

Teams will be Announced – Sunday, June 5th
These will be large teams ranging from 10-15 people per team where you will strategize and compete against your fellow members for the battle to win the top team! Each coach will have a team that they will be leading/coaching through the competition! We will divide the teams up by all different levels on each team so the teams are evenly divided! There will be prizes for the top team, a trophy/plaque that will be displayed at the gym, and best of all bragging rights! There is also a free massage from our very own massage therapist, Shedara the Muscle Whisperer, which will be awarded to 1 person at the end of the day! There will be 9 WODs that will be completed throughout the day and we will be announcing the WODs over the next few weeks! There are 4 WODs that everyone on the team will have to participate in and the remaining 5 will be divided up based on your team’s strategy! As mentioned above, we will announce your teams and coaches on Sunday, June 5th to allow you time to come up with team names and start strategizing.

Be sure to sign up when you are at the gym and reserve your spot! This is open only to current Outlier CrossFit and CrossFit Coronado members.

Scoring
Each WODs specific scoring is listed in the description below on how we determine placements for the winners of those workouts. You will receive points for each place you take on each WOD and the point system that will be awarded is listed below. The team at the end of the day with the lowest score is the winner of the Civil War!
All WODs will be worth the following points for each 1st through 4th placement with the exception of the Sprints and Chipper.
1st Place – 2 Points
2nd Place – 4 Points
3rd Place – 6 Points
4th Place – 8 Points
During the sprints, your team has the opportunity to win each leg of the sprints and receive points. However, the sprint WODs point system for each leg of the sprints and the overall winner of the sprint ladder is listed below. You will see that we will not be doubling the points for the sprint ladder.
1st Place – 1 Point
2nd Place – 2 Points
3rd Place – 3 Points
4th Place – 4 Points
During the chipper WOD, your team has the opportunity to place multiple times as there will be 4 different checkpoints during the chipper WOD. Each checkpoint will be awarded the following points based on placement.

3rd Place – 3 Points
4th Place – 4 Points
However, the overall winner of the Chipper will receive the following points for winning the entire chipper.

WOD #1 and #2 – Snatch Ladder/Clean & Jerk Ladder
Pick half of your team to complete the snatch ladder and the other half to complete the clean and jerk ladder. All members of the team will compete in WOD #1 or #2. You can choose to power or squat either lifts, any form of shoulder to overhead will be acceptable for the jerk. Each team member will contribute a score to the overall team score. You will have 1 minute at each weight to successfully complete the lift and then rotate to the next station. Your final successful lift will be your score that will be added to your team’s overall points. Your team will receive points for max weight lifted for the snatch and then you will get max weight lifted for the clean and jerk, so this 2 events where your team can take 1st through 4th on either event. If you go all the way through the ladder, you can get an extra 5 lbs added to your lift for every successful lift completed during that minute (for example, if you snatch 133 successfully 3 times your score will be 143).

WOD #3 & #4 – Relay Helen & 10 Minute AMRAP
Pick 6 people from your team (male or female combinations) to complete Relay Helen, there will be 2 teams of 3 people competing from each team. Pick 4 people (male or female combinations) to complete the 10 minute AMRAP, there will be 2 teams of 2 partners competing from each team. There will be a total of 10 people from each team completing these 2 WODs. We will add your 2 teams total time for Helen to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place and we will add your 2 teams total reps for the AMRAP to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.
Relay Helen WOD:

800 Meter Run
42 Kettlebell Swings (53/35)
21 Pull Ups
* 1 person from each team completes 1 round. Score is your final time for all 3 partners to complete 3 rounds total (you will only be doing 1 round of relay Helen)
2 People will Complete:

50 Air Squats
40 Abmat Sit Ups
30 Deadlifts (115/75)
* 1 partner will be working at a time, break up however you would like.
WOD #5 – Sprint Relay
Pick whoever you would like on your team to complete the following sprints. You will hand off a baton at the end of each sprint (if dropped, must complete 5 burpees before starting your sprint). As many members from your team can complete this WOD. However, 1 person cannot go from 50 meters into 100 meters, you have to rotate members each sprint but the person who runs the 50 meters can do the 200 meter sprint. See scoring system above.

WOD #6 – Sled Ladder
Every person on your team must complete at least 1 lap down and back. You will add 1 – 45 lb plate every lap (1 lap is garage door to the end of the building and back). You will add 8 plates total and then take them off each lap until you complete the final sled push for the winner. You will get points once your team gets to the half way point and complete the sled push with 8 plates and then points for winning the overall sled push. You will have the opportunity to score 2 times during this event as we will record your team’s time when your team completes the sled pushes with 8 plates on it and when your team completes the final sled push.

WOD #7 & #8 – 2k Row or Randy (Tentative start time 1:30 PM)
You will pick half of your team to complete a 2k row and the other half of the team to complete Randy. Everyone from your team will do one of these WODs. For the 2K Row, we will add up all of your team members rowing times in seconds and place the teams 1st through 4th based on all 9 members from your team’s rowing score. For Randy, we will add up all of your team members Randy times in seconds and place the teams 1st through 4th based on all 9 members from your team’s Randy score.
