Every year during the open, people from all over the world test themselves to see who is the fittest. Every year there are a lot of gains made, pr’s smashed, and a ton of fun had. The folks online make it look easy, and each year people think to themselves, I want to do that. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing CrossFit to be healthy, and that will always be the mainstay of our gym at Outlier CrossFit. But, this is for those of you that want to be like those people online… The aspiring Rich Froning and the Annie Thorisdottir.Lots of people say they want to compete, but what they really mean is they want to win. To win, you must love to train, compete, and win. Those folks online did not get where they are in a few months. For most of them, it was years of dedication, with setbacks, pitfalls, triumphs, and tragedies. So really, to want to win, you must want to work, when others don’t.At Outlier CrossFit we have some of the best coaches I have come in contact with. Myself (Clint Russell), James Storer, Sarah Storer, and Jessica Stevenson are all 3 Time regional athletes. Erwin Caalaman, our Barbell coach has coached multiple lifters to the American open in weightlifting and has developed some of the most technically proficient Olympic lifters in the area of San Diego county. As well as gone to the CrossFit Games in 2008 & 2009 in Aromas, CA. We can show you the way, but you must walk on path. You must train on a program that develops the ten general physical skills in all manners. You must train metabolic conditioning, gymnastics, strength, Olympic lifting, odd movements, running, rowing etc. Not everyone gets to go to the CrossFit games, but anyone can train to reach their potential. The most important factor in determining your potential is your willingness to do the work. If you want to do the work email info@outliercrossfit.com or clint@outliercrossfit.com.
