On August 6th 2011, a military helicopter carrying 31 U.S. special operation troops was shot down in Eastern Afghanistan. Our hearts break for their family members and they will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. Their dedication to serve our country will never be forgotten.
It is especially during times like this when we are reminded of the enormous sacrifice that each and every one of our military service members make in order to keep our world safe. They commit to making not only the ultimate sacrifice if need be, but also to the everyday sacrifices that affect them continuously. They commit to missing their children’s births, first steps, birthday celebrations, months away from loved ones, potential injuries, and countless other selfless acts.
Outlier CrossFit is proud to be the home to many active duty service members and veterans. We at Outlier Crossfit would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you (and your families) for the sacrifices that you make, both large and small. Your continued service and bravery is greatly appreciated.
We would like to encourage all of our members to show their support for the fallen heroes by participating in the 31 Heroes WOD. This fundraiser will take place at our gym on Saturday, August 6th, 2016 and will help raise money for the the following organizations: Snowball Express, the Travis Manion Foundation‘s Challenge Grants program, and the memorial funds of each of the men killed in action August 6, 2011. Members of the community are welcome to participate as well. Please help us in honoring their memory and giving back to the families who made their service possible.

The doors will open at 8am and the first heat of the workout will start at 8:30am sharp on August 6th. We will be pairing people up for the workout or you can bring a friend to help support the cause.
This is also a potluck so please bring something to eat and share with others after the WOD!
“31Heroes”
AMRAP in 31 Minutes of:
8 Thrusters (155/105)
6 Rope Climbs (15 ft. ascent)
11 Box Jumps (30″/24”)
This is a Partner WOD – Partner #1 will perform the work listed above. Partner #2 will run 400m with a sandbag (45/25). Once Partner #2 returns from the run, Partner #1 will grab the sandbag and begin their 400m, while Partner #2 continues work wherever #1 left off.
