Matt A.
After graduating from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Kinesiology, Matt decided to continue his education, acquiring the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certification through NSCA and the Certified Personal Trainer certification through ACSM. He then began his fitness career at 24 Hour Fitness as a personal trainer and quickly gained one-on-one experience while continually learning from fellow trainers. Here Matt was introduced to CrossFit through a colleague, and began implementing the fundamental pieces into his clients’ programming. Within 6 months of employment, Matt received his first promotion to Assistant Fitness Manager, and 3 months after that, received another promotion to Fitness Manager. As a Fitness Manager, Matt oversaw the personal training department. Not only did he continue training clients, he also mentored new trainers by teaching proper programming, technique and cues.
Matt is now one of the new coaches at Outlier CrossFit. He brings the same energy, motivation and education to each class as he did as a trainer at 24. He is always seeking more knowledge and is open to any criticism that will enhance his ability to serve you.
